Sightings of a lion, panda, penguins and a large cat were reported at the Gaylord Palms Resort yesterday, but guests need not panic. It was Christmas in July as DreamWorks Animation characters made an appearance at the hotel to help announce their part in this year’s holiday season at the resort.
On Friday, Sept. 30, Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be transformed into an underworld party celebrating the Haunted Mansion ride at the Magic Kingdom. This limited-ticket special event costs $285 and will offer special guests, food, gifts and an auction.
“The Thing” makes its return to the big screen this fall and to Halloween Horror Nights 21 in the form of one of the haunted houses. In 2007, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights featured a house called “The Thing: Assimilation”. This year “The Thing” will be based on Universal Pictures’ upcoming thriller.
Irish actresses Scarlett Byrne and Evanna Lynch, known for their roles as Pansy Parkinson and Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter film series, stopped to try on a pair of Spectrespecs at Dervish & Banges, a magical supplies and equipment shop in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
