A look inside Legoland Florida’s new Fresh From Florida Greenhouse

A grand opening was held on March 29, 2012 at Legoland Florida for their new Fresh From Florida Greenhouse tour. The event was attended by Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture, Adam Putnam, and some kids from FFA and 4H. The new attraction showcases the who, what, where, how and why of farm-to-table agriculture through an interactive experiences. Let’s take a look:

Lego friend Buddy watched as Commissioner Putnam, his son, and Legoland Florida General Manager Adrian Jones planted the last plant at the new attraction. The greenhouse is the result of a partnership with Fresh From Florida, an initiative of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

There’s a lot to see and do in the greenhouse.

It’s like a small farming version of Miniland in parts of the new greenhouse.

Guests can put their hand in this hole to feel some seeds and try to guess what sort of plant seeds they are …

If you guess the correct answer, this little mouse pops up.

I know there are some real ones in the Cypress Gardens area, but is this Legoland Florida’s only full-size Lego alligator?

When you first enter the greenhouse, a sign warns you not to eat any of the fruits or vegetables you’ll find inside.

In a tribute to the former Cypress Gardens theme park, they’ve added some Lego butterflies to the greenhouse. The greenhouse used to be a butterfly garden in the old park.

This interactive board shows all the different kinds of farming dome in Florida.

Guests can try their hand at milking this cow.

If you look all around the greenhouse, you’ll find some surprises above and below.

There is some real fruit in the greenhouse. You’ll find some Florida peaches and these real bonsai oranges.
