The new Polar Express Experience recently opened at SeaWorld Orlando as a holiday overlay to SeaWorld’s Wild Arctic attraction, featuring a motion-simulator taking you on a ride on the train from the holiday film, The Polar Express.
We were there for the official opening and have posted a video and pictures featuring a brief introduction to the ride, a talk with Dan Brown, Executive Vice President of SeaWorld Orlando, some a cappella Polar Express singers, and a look at the attraction’s queue and post-show, including some great aquatic sights.
As always, there are multiple versions of the video available: iPod-friendly, 540p HD, and YouTube. Check them all out here!

Is this an overlay of another ride?

Yes, it’s a holiday overlay for SeaWorld’s Wild Arctic. Sorry for not mentioning that (editing post now).

Looks like a pretty decent overlay.
Where are the video/films used on the ride (Front, sides or both)?

Just the front. If you’ve seen the movie, then you’ve essentially seen what goes on during the ride. The majority of what you ride is from the “roller coaster” type scene in the film.
