Today marked the official opening of Manta, SeaWorld’s newest roller coaster. As part of the opening festivities, we were invited to ride the thrilling attraction and have our trip recorded on the “MantaCam,” allowing us to bring you a first-person look at all of the twists and turns that can be found throughout.
Prominently featured in the video are myself (Ricky Brigante), editor and chief photographer Matt Roseboom, and writer Deborah Brauser. I was the only one wearing a microphone, so most of the yelps, screams, and other strange noises you hear during the video are coming from me. Enjoy.
In addition to the MantaCam, SeaWorld took some fantastic stills of us having a good time on the ride, like the one included above. Here are a few more:

I like how everyone in the row was relaxed except Matt.

I’m in the camp with Louise if you need non-screaming riders for videos
I wish the video had more POV footage and less on the riders, but that’s probably no surprise since I’ve voiced my opinions on that here before.

Actually, some screaming girls would probably have made it more exciting to watch.

Normally I’d agree about more POV and less shots of the riders… but this time I’m in the video so I actually wanted to see more of us and less of the track! Their setup was rather impressive. They had cameramen stationed at several locations around the track and were cutting between the shots live as we were riding it. All of the video you see here was shot live during our ride. None is pre-recorded.
