Cat Cora’s Kouzzina now open at Disney’s BoardWalk – Photos

Yesterday was the opening of Cat Cora’s Kouzzina restaurant (Kouzzina is Greek for “kitchen” and pronounced “koo-zee-nah”). It’s in the spot where Spoodles used to be on Disney’s BoardWalk. Cat Cora, the first and only female Iron Chef on Food Network show “Iron Chef America,” is a Mississippi native born to a family of Greek restauranteurs. The restaurant has a Mediterranean flair. The food is a little different then your traditional greek. The flavors are more of a U.S. southern-french-greek fusion.
All the same staff from Spoodles are still there, but the decor is different. It has a more greek feel, with dark woods and new colors on the walls. The artwork is not up yet, but will be before the grand opening sometime next month. Chef Cat Cora is finalizing all the last minute details.
The entryway features family photos, wine and some of Cat Cora’s cookbooks (and a hidden Mickey).
All of the tables and chairs were refinished. You can see the family dining table in the background that stayed the original color.
The restaurant is open daily for breakfast and dinner. Dinner prices are on the medium to high side, between $19 to $35 per entree. Visit DisneyWorld.com to see their full menu.

Just a note; The Coranation wines are not available yet. (Coronation spelling is a little different for Cat Cora) They are from Cat Cora’s personal wine collection and will be coming soon.
I had a delicious Fisherman’s Stew paired with a wonderful greek wine. Yum! They had a nice selection of desserts too.
I can’t wait till they are officially open and everything is in. I will try it again then too. A full story will be coming after the grand opening. Foodies stay tune!=)

Gia was our waiter on 9/26/09 at 730pm and she was a terrible waitres. We got our appetizers before we got plain water. She did not explain the menu and was very rough as she passed in between tables, hitting my ankle with a chair she shovled in our table to get through. We truly felt neglected and could not wait to leave the rest. WE love paying for a good service but her tip showed her service. I am not sure what training they go through but she sure should not be waitressing. I do not recommed this place, the prices were superhigh for the amount of food served, perhaps we should have not falled for a tourist trap!

My husband and I went to your restaurant last week and the service was terrible. We finished our calamari before we received any drinks. We ordered Cat’s flight wine recomendations for our meal, and we received them when we got our entree. My cinnamon chicken was flavorless and has large chunks of grissle in it. Out of 7 days of Disney World and restaurants, this is the ONLY place that we did not receive the highest standard of service and tasty food. This was a $114 meal and I would have rather had Mcdonalds.

My husband and I visited your restaurant a couple of weeks ago. We had the lamb shanks. They were fabulous. The meat was delicious, the gigantes beans were different and tasty. The service was great.
We just wish we could have the recipe.
