Yesterday was the opening of Cat Cora’s Kouzzina restaurant (Kouzzina is Greek for “kitchen” and pronounced “koo-zee-nah”). It’s in the spot where Spoodles used to be on Disney’s BoardWalk. Cat Cora, the first and only female Iron Chef on Food Network show “Iron Chef America,” is a Mississippi native born to a family of Greek restauranteurs. The restaurant has a Mediterranean flair. The food is a little different then your traditional greek. The flavors are more of a U.S. southern-french-greek fusion.

All the same staff from Spoodles are still there, but the decor is different. It has a more greek feel, with dark woods and new colors on the walls. The artwork is not up yet, but will be before the grand opening sometime next month. Chef Cat Cora is finalizing all the last minute details.

The entryway features family photos, wine and some of Cat Cora’s cookbooks (and a hidden Mickey).

All of the tables and chairs were refinished. You can see the family dining table in the background that stayed the original color.

The restaurant is open daily for breakfast and dinner. Dinner prices are on the medium to high side, between $19 to $35 per entree. Visit DisneyWorld.com to see their full menu.
