Star Wars Weekends to return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in May 2010

Disney has announced the dates for Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2010 as: May 21 – 23, May 28 – 30, June 4 – 6, June 11 – 13.
Prior to today’s announcement, many fans thought Disney might change their usual May/June dates for the annual Star Wars-themed event to surround Star Wars Celebration V, which will be taking place in Orlando in August 2010 and is sure to draw tens of thousands of Star Wars fans from around the world.
Disney is also saying that fans can look forward to “a lot of surprises” during 2010’s Star Wars Weekends. This will be the final Star Wars Weekends to feature the popular Star Tours attraction in its 20-year-old state before it closes in Oct. 2010 to become Star Tours II.

“Star Wars” just feels tired now…. not just “Star Tours” (which needs that refresh, badly!) but “Star Wars” in general. It’s great if you’re 8, but for longtime fans it just feels ……. over.
