Five Buffalo Wild Wings sports restaurants/bars in Central Florida have entered into a partnership with California-based Be Media to offer 3D viewing for its customers. The new program will start with at least 25 live World Cup games beginning with the opening match between South Africa and Mexico, June 11. The 3D viewing is a free service for guests.

The Casselberry, Waterford Lakes, Osceola Parkway, Lake Buena Vista (Crossroads Shopping Center) and International Drive locations will be one of the first restaurants in the country to offer live 3D sporting events. The 3D shows will be seen on Panasonic Vierra 3D plasma monitors and on several of their existing large 100- to 200-inch screens using several different 3D projectors.

Buffalo Wild Wings will be using XpanD’s active 3D glasses. These won’t be your standard red and blue glasses. At least 100 pairs of glasses will be available per location for the world cup. They’ll add more as needed, up to 500 per restaurant in the future for high-demand sporting events, such as the Superbowl.

The ESPN Wide World of Sports Gill in Disney World is also offering 3D viewing of the World Cup on Friday.
