Universal and Disney bring Christian music back to their parks Sept. 9 and 10

On the weekend of Sept. 9 and 10, Christian music artists will be taking over two Orlando theme parks for special-ticket events. Rock the Universe returns to Universal Studios, featuring performances by 17 Christian music artists, guest speakers, candlelight ceremonies, and all-new fan zone, and Night of Joy returns to the Magic Kingdom with live performances by Christian Music stars in rock, pop and gospel all around the park.
The headlining performers for the Universal event are Switchfoot, Casting Crowns, Reliant K, Third Day, David Crowder Band, and anberlin. The full lineup includes:

In addition to the musical performances, guests will have access to autograph sessions, band merchandise, and access to the New Artist’s Stage at the all-new fan zone area. The three emerging artists who will be performing there are Jason Castro of American Idol, For King and Country, and Dara Maclean.
At Universal, guests will also get the opportunity to hear from two survivors of the Sept. 11 attacks, in honor of the 10th Anniversary. Retired Navy Captain Tom Joyce survived the attacks on the Pentagon, and Sujo John worked on the 81st floor of the North Tower in New York City. Both will discuss how their faith helped them through that tragic time.

Also announced is this year they’ll be re-programming rip/ride/rockit with bands that will be appearing at rock the universe.
