Steven M. Barrett has documented more than 1,000 Hidden Mickeys over the years, which he details in a completely revised fifth edition of his best-selling book, Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World’s Best Kept Secrets.

Hidden Mickeys can be found all throughout Walt Disney World Resorts, purposely placed by Disney Imagineers as new areas or attractions are constructed. Similarly, Hidden Mickeys can also disappear as older attractions are closed or replaced. As such, this scavenger hunt of sorts is forever ongoing, as Barrett’s books demonstrate.

Barrett’s books, rather than just listing all of the Hidden Mickeys, offer hints about where they can be found, and are separated by section – one for each park, one for the resorts, and one for the rest Walt Disney World. They even have a scoring system.
