After months of speculation and rumors, Universal Orlando Resort has made it official. Autobots and Decepticons will be battling it out in Transformers: The Ride – 3D starting next Summer. The attraction will be located in the middle of Universal Studios Florida, near the Shrek attraction.

Transformers: The Ride is 3D has been dubbed as the next generation of theme park rides. The ride follows in the footsteps of King Kong 3D and The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, both of which were created by the same team created the new Transformers ride. It is based off the “Transformers” blockbuster movie franchise. The ride will rise up two stories and feature a 2,000-foot multi-level ride-track, special effects and a ride system similar to the current Spider-Man ride in Universal’s Islands of Adventure – using the same high resolution 3D technology on 14 different screens.

The attraction is described:

As the Battle Begins with Transformers: The Ride 3D, an immersive, next generation thrill ride that blurs the line between fiction and reality. Fusing HD 3D media and flight simulation technology, this epic ride creates an experience unlike anything this planet has ever seen. Based on the popular movie franchise, this mind-blowing new Transformers adventure puts you in the middle of the ultimate war zone. Fight alongside Optimus and try to survive as you protect the All Spark from Decepticons over four stories tall. Remember, the future of the human race is counting on you. Prepare for the greatest battle you’ll ever ride.

Transformers: The Ride – 3D previously opened at Universal Studios Singapore and at Universal Studios Hollywood earlier this year.
