Busy days bring out some rarely seen attractions at Universal Orlando

It’s a great week and a not-so-great week to visit Universal Orlando’s two theme parks. It’s not-so-great because with Easter and spring break, it’s one of the busiest weeks of the year. But it’s a great time to visit if you’d like to see some extra entertainment and attractions that aren’t usually in operation.

Here’s a list of some of the rarely available offerings you can see this week. Many of these will also be back during other busy times such as the busiest weeks of summer.

Universal Studios

Universal announced that Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon Blast would be closing on April 1 but that it would be open periodically until Aug. 18 when it closes for good to make room for a new attraction. So ride it this week while you still can.

Although the hit TV show is no longer on the air, you can still see some park guests find out if fear is a factor for them at Fear Factor Live.

Universal 360 is a nighttime fireworks show. It only runs a few weeks a year and this is one of them. Fireworks and lasers join the many movie scenes projected on large inflatable balls in the lake.

The characters from the new movie Hop were supposed to only be at the park for a short time, but they’re still around this week.

Street Breakz is a breakdancing troup that usually performs by the Men in Black attraction. For the next week, you can also see listen to The Vinyl’s perform outside of Mel’s Drive-In, and over at Islands of Adventure, you can see the Modern Mystics band.

Islands of Adventure

Check out Mat Hoffman’s Aggro Circus at the stadium in Toon Lagoon. It’s a BMX, skate and motorcycle show.

After being closed for many years, you can meet a “living” full size dinosaur in Jurassic Park at Triceratops Discovery Trail.

You may be lucky enough to find the Green Eggs and Ham quick serve restaurant open, where you can try the combo made famous by Dr. Seuss.

And all around each park, be on the lookout for rarely seen characters meeting guests. There’s also a Toon Character Party held daily this week in Toon Lagoon.
