2017 NFL Pro Bowl Week has arrived at Walt Disney World resort, and it brings with it some public events where football fans can meet the players, including a few opportunities that are free.
Beginning Wednesday, January 25, at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, NFL fans are invited to get a close glimpse of their favorite NFL players during AFC and NFC team practices. The practices, which will be held Wednesday through Saturday, are free and open to the public. You can register for priority access here.
The NFL Pro Bowl Experience is a family-friendly football fan festival at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex with interactive games, activities, and a “taste of the town” tailgate of Disney’s food trucks. Fans interested in exclusive access to Pro Bowl content and events should register for the NFL Fan Mobile Pass here.
At Disney Springs, you’re invited to a Pro Bowl Bash where NFL cheerleaders and team mascots will take over Disney Springs Marketplace Stage on Saturday, from 4 – 7 p.m. ESPN Radio/ESPN2’s “Mike & Mike” show will broadcast live from Disney Springs on Thursday and Friday, from 6 – 10 a.m. ESPN’s “NFL Live” will also broadcast live from Disney Springs on Thursday and Friday, from 3 – 4 p.m. Guests can be part of a live audience (seating is limited). Park in the Lime Garage and meet at the fountain across from UNIQLO for further directions. Please arrive no more than 60 minutes prior to the broadcast start time.
On Saturday, Jan. 28 from 4-7 p.m., the Disney Springs Marketplace Stage hosts the free Pro Bowl Bash dance party, which will feature NFL cheerleaders and mascots, DJ Elliot Hansen and more.
And at Magic Kingdom Park on Friday afternoon, four Pro Bowl team captains will take a trip down Main Street, U.S.A. during a special Pro Bowl parade with Mickey and his pals.

Space fans will have an out-of-this-world opportunity to meet astronaut Mike Massimino during his book signing and presentation at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on January 10, 2017.
Mike Massimino’s presentation will take place in Astronaut Encounter Theater at 2 p.m., followed by a book signing from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the ground floor of the Space Shuttle Atlantis attraction.
Massimino’s book Spaceman: An Astronaut’s Unlikely Journey to Unlock the Secrets of the Universe is an awe-inspiring memoir revealing the hard work, camaraderie and sheer guts involved in the life of an astronaut. Massimino vividly describes what it is like to strap yourself into the space shuttle and blast off into space, or the sensation of walking in space, as he did when he embarked on an emergency repair of the Hubble telescope. Copies are available for purchase in The Space Shop at the visitor complex.
As a mission specialist for NASA’s Space Shuttle Program, Mike Massimino also served as CAPCOM at mission control and is a veteran of four spacewalks. He is also the first astronaut to tweet from space! He served on STS-109 Columbia and STS-125 Atlantis, the fourth and fifth respective missions to service Hubble Space Telescope. Massimino is currently the Senior Space Advisor to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and a Columbia University professor.
The event is included with daily admission to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.Note that Massimino will only sign his book Spaceman: An Astronaut’s Unlikely Journey to Unlock the Secrets of the Universe. He will not sign any memorabilia, photos, space related items, or other books authored or not authored by him. Photos will be allowed only while he is signing but he will not pose for pictures or allow anyone behind the table to take a photo.

Pro Bowl Week starts Tuesday January 24 at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The sports venue will host many of the Pro Bowl Week activities, including AFC and NFC team practices; youth football events; a free, family-friendly football-themed festival – NFL Pro Bowl Experience; among others.
This site will also host the taping of “The Pro Bowl Skills Showdown,” pitting the AFC and NFC All-Stars against each other, which will air on ESPN on January 26 at 7 p.m. EST. Additional activities are planned for Disney Springs and Epcot, which will be the site of the Pro Bowl 5K run.
On Friday, January 27, Pro Bowl players, NFL cheerleaders and various community groups will take part in a celebratory parade down the Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A.
The 2017 Pro Bowl game itself will be played on January 29 at Camping World Stadium in downtown Orlando, and will be broadcast live on ESPN at 8 p.m. Tickets for the game are available at nfl.com/probowl.
