Legoland Florida Resort and Kidz Bop recently announced a multi-year alliance that will make popular kids’ music brand the “official music partner” for the Lego theme park. The partnership announcement coincides with the launch of Lego Ninjago World, a new theme park land set to open Jan. 12, 2017, where kids will “become the ninja” in their very own martial arts adventure inspired by the long-running Lego franchise.
To celebrate the Florida park’s expansion, The Kidz Bop Kids recently recorded an original version of the high-energy Lego Ninjago theme song, “The Weekend Whip.” In its music video, the Kids are joined by brother-and-sister ninjas Kai and Nya while demonstrating five “signature” ninja hand moves guests can use to defeat villains and capture the high score on Lego Ninjago The Ride, a groundbreaking attraction featuring technology never seen outside a Legoland theme park. The video will debut Friday, Dec. 30, and play in-park at Lego Ninjago World.
Kidz Bop music and imagery will be seen and heard throughout the Winter Haven, Fla., resort, in a first-of-its-kind collaboration for the multi-day vacation destination and music brand. Legoland Florida Resort will name its main performance venue “The Kidz Bop Theater,” where The Kidz Bop Kids will perform annually, along with other kid-friendly talent. As the resort’s official music partner, Kidz Bop will write and produce an original theme song for the Florida site, to be titled “Built for Kids.”
Kidz Bop recently shot a music video and national TV commercial for their latest album, Kidz Bop 34, on location at a LEGOLAND theme park. A “Kids Go Free” coupon for a free child’s admission to Legoland Florida Resort will be included in all physical copies of the album.
The partnership also will be supported by extensive social media activations, including a sweepstakes in which one lucky fan will win a trip to Legoland Florida Resort to see The Kidz Bop Kids perform.
“As the premier vacation destination built for kids, Legoland Florida Resort is thrilled to join with the talented team at KIDZ BOP to deliver memorable musical experiences for our guests both inside the theme park and beyond,” said Rex Jackson, vice president of marketing and sales for Legoland Florida Resort. “We look forward to showcasing Kidz Bop in many creative ways together.”
“This partnership is the beginning of a tremendous collaboration that will bring KIDZ BOP to life in a completely new and meaningful entertainment experience,” said Victor Zaraya, president of Kidz Bop. “We’re honored and thrilled to be working with Legoland Florida Resort in this way and think that the next couple years are going to be a lot of fun for kids and families.”

Carole King composed and wrote so many songs we love and know. “Beautiful – The Carole King Musical” is full of those songs and more. You’ll hear tunes like “So far away”, “Some Kind of Wonderful”, Locomotion”, “One Fine Day”, “You’ve got a Friend” and of course “Beautiful”, as well as so many more!
This musical depicts Carole’s life. It starts in her teen years and shows the start of her music career. She has had a lot of ups and down in her life, all of which catapult her into her next creative adventure. She made some life-long friends through the years and has also had the privilege of making music with other music legends along the way.
You’ll see how certain points in her life inspired the songs you know. It makes you nostalgic for that era, whether you lived them or not!
The sets and period costumes bring you right back to the ’50s and ’60s. They touch on the fact that almost everyone smoked back then (inside too). All of the cast members have beautiful voices and the well-written script will make you laugh out loud, cry, shake your head in disbelief and clap your hands.
“Beautiful – The Carole King Musical” is being performed at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando now through Sunday, May 8, 2016. Tickets start at $38.75. Click here for more information and tickets. It’s a great Mother’s Day present!
Grab onto your fins, because the original Ariel is returning to the role that made her famous. A third performance of the celebrity-studded concert presentation of The Little Mermaid has been added for June 6, 2016, at the Hollywood Bowl, and Jodi Benson herself will be reprising the role of Ariel.
Jodi Benson will be joined by Rebel Wilson as Ursula, John Stamos as Chef Louis, Tituss Burgess as Sebastian, Norm Lewis as King Triton, Darren Criss as Eric, and Joshua Colley as Flounder. Benson and the rest of the cast will be singing the songs from the score of The Little Mermaid with a live orchestra, as the movie plays in the background on the huge Hollywood Bowl screen. For the June 6 performance only, the Opening Guest Stars will include Susan Egan, who was the voice of Meg in Hercules and the original Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, and Brad Kane, who was the singing voice of Aladdin in Aladdin. Mic drop.
Jodi Benson was quoted as saying:
“I’m so thrilled and incredibly blessed to be invited once again to sing at the Hollywood Bowl—and this time as my beloved Ariel during this unique commemoration of our movie, The Little Mermaid,” said Benson. “It’s such a special honor to celebrate my 30th anniversary with the Walt Disney Company by standing on the Hollywood Bowl stage and singing the beautiful music of the brilliant Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. I am truly honored and eternally grateful to Howard and Alan and our directors, Ron Clements and John Musker, for allowing me to bring Ariel to life and to be ‘part of your world’ for all of these many, amazing years.”
Tickets are still available for The Little Mermaid concerts on June 3rd and 4th, which will be headlined by Sarah Bareilles as Ariel. When the concerts were originally announced, composer Alan Menken said:
“It is such an unbelievable abundance of riches to have my score for The Little Mermaid performed by a live orchestra, with incredible guest artists at the Hollywood Bowl…From the animated film to our Broadway production to events like this one, it is just incredible to realize the emotional investment people continue to have with this musical.”
Tickets for Jodi Benson’s June 6 performance go on sale Wednesday April 27 at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com.
