Dapper Day returns to Disney parks for their annual Spring Outing

 Springtime is blooming in the Disney parks, and with it comes one of the most popular annual fan events in the Disney community: Dapper Day.

Dapper Day is a bi-annual fan event that takes place every spring and fall at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disneyland Paris. This year, the spring outing dates are April 22 and 23 at Disneyland, April 28’s Dapper Day Eve outing to Disney Springs, April 29 in Magic Kingdom and April 30 in Epcot at Walt Disney World, and May 6 at Disneyland Paris. Participation in these events only requires a regular admission to the parks.

Started in 2011, Dapper Day is a celebration of style from all eras, and this is displayed through organized outings to the Disney parks in your “Sunday Best.” Other experiences like exclusive parties and conventions like the Dapper Day Expo in Anaheim, Calif., as well as events outside of the Disney parks are just another way to take part in this fan experience.

Even though this isn’t a Disney Parks-sponsored event, they are definitely taking part in all the festivities by offering even more for guests to enjoy throughout the weekend at Disney Springs, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot.

On Friday, April 28, guests can head over to Disney Springs from 7 p.m. to midnight for some pre-Dapper Day fun with special offerings, music, and discounts from participating stores.

From 7 p.m. until midnight, enjoy swing dance music at the Fountain Stage, along with a special drink menu with dapper-inspired cocktails.

Select stores at Disney Springs will have discounts or other special offerings as well. Kiehl’s will offer relaxing hand massages, instant skin refreshers and mini-facials by appointment. Mac and Sephora will offer free mini makeovers, and guests can receive a $5 coupon to Chapel Hats with purchase at Sephora.

Chapel Hats will have their own Dapper Day festivities, including a photo booth. Starbucks will offer a 10% discount to any guest dressed in Dapper wear, as well as have off-the-menu themed drinks for the event. Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC will be giving out free miniature cupcakes to guests dressed in their dapper best. Amorette’s Patisserie will have a special themed dessert, featuring a mini dome cake decorated like a fascinator hat and covered in dark chocolate glacage.

Vivoli il Gilato will also be joining in on the Dapper fun with a special promotion. For those participating in Dapper Day by dressing up, you can receive one additional scoop with the purchase of any gelato during Dapper Day weekend, from April 28-30.

Guests can also visit the Disney PhotoPass Studio in the Marketplace to take photos in their dapper attire with Disney-themed backgrounds.

Guests can enjoy an afternoon picnic on April 29 in Magic Kingdom. Boxed lunches will be available to purchase at Tomorrowland Terrace from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with their own special picnic area in the East Plaza Garden.

Each lunch comes packed with a fruit cup, chips, a regular-sized fountain beverage, a mini Dapper Rose cupcake, and the choice of a Greek salad wrap, chicken caesar salad, BBQ pulled pork sandwich or fried chicken. Kids’ meals will also be available. Boxed lunches will be $14.99 for adults, and $9.99 for children 9 and under.

Two brand new styles of specialty cupcakes will also be available for guests to savor. The first is called the “Dapper Quartet,” a set of four small cupcakes. Served as two chocolate and two vanilla cupcakes topped with vanilla buttercream, these cupcakes take after the stylings of the Dapper Dans of Main Street, U.S.A. – even sporting their colors and matching fondant bowties.

The second exclusive cupcake, called “Hats off to Spring,” is a choice of a chocolate cupcake with mocha buttercream, or a vanilla cupcake topped with vanilla buttercream. Each cupcake comes decorated with a sugar cookie sandwich coated in white chocolate and filled with raspberry jam.

Special flower accessories will be available to purchase from Disney Floral & Gifts on April 29 as well. These outfit-completing pieces will include rose wands and beautiful corsages. These will be available for purchase on Main Street U.S.A. during the day, just outside of Uptown Jewelers.

As a limited-time exclusive, some of the merchandise from The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane at Disney Springs will also be available to purchase in Magic Kingdom during Dapper Day. Popular pieces from the line inspired by Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, “Alice in Wonderland,” “It’s a Small World” and more will be available to purchase at the Emporium.

On April 30 at Epcot, guests will be able to show off their swing dancing moves once again, as swing music will be offered at the Fountain Stage from 2:35 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Disney PhotoPass will also have a special themed “Wish you were here!” frame set up behind Spaceship Earth, along with black-and-white photo opportunities in the Italy and France Pavilions.

Guests can also purchase tickets to a private Dapper Day party at the Living Seas Lounge in The Seas pavilion. There are two separate parties, one from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., and a second form 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tickets to the later party have sold out, but tickets to the first party of the day are still available for $50 here.
