Guests at Discovery Cove can now take a dive with the rulers of the ocean during the new Shark Swim experience.

Would you ever take a dive into shallow waters infested by sharks? Discovery Cove now invites you to do just that with their new Shark Swim experience.

The new encounter includes a shallow water shark talk session, as well as training with Discovery Cove’s expert aquarists. Guests can have the opportunity to swim freely with several species of sharks in the deeper section of their habitat. Discovery Cove also donates 5 percent of the proceeds from Shark Swim to the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, which conducts research and provides educational programming to help conserve marine environments.

This undersea experience can be added onto both Day Resort packages as well as All-Inclusive Dolphin Swims, and start at 11:30 a.m. each day. All participants in the Shark Swim must be at least 10 years old, and comfortable with swimming. Children ages 10-13 participating in the swim must have a participating adult to accompany them. Each Shark Swim experience is $85 per person.

Another new experience to Discovery Cove is the Ray Feeding, where guests can join the aquarists as they feed Cownose and Southern Stingrays. Guests can also have the opportunity to feed thousands of tropical fish before they are led on a private swim through The Grand Reef.

Like the Shark Swim, this experience can also be added on to Day Resort packages and All-Inclusive Dolphin Swims, and are held Thursday through Monday mornings from 7:00-8:45 a.m. The full experience is approximately one hour, and all reservations must be purchased in advance. Participants must be at least 6 years old and comfortable in water. The Ray Feeding Experience is $50 per person.
