Guests visiting Disney California Adventure will get to celebrate Día de los Muertos from Sept. 15 – Nov. 2.

Guests to Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort will get the chance to discover and celebrate a new seasonal event that celebrates family, heritage and the traditional Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead.

Starting Sept. 15 through Nov. 2, this event will bring special entertainment featuring dancers, musicians, and activities, including representation of iconic Mexican folk art, as well as special decorations and food inspired by the holiday.

The celebration comes to Disney California Adventure to herald in the upcoming Disney-Pixar animated film, “Coco,” with experiences themed to the film. Elements of the event will be seen in “A Bug’s Land” starting Sunday, Nov. 5, along with a special sneak peek of the movie that will continue until Jan. 7, 2018.

Guests visiting Cars Land from Sept. 15 through Oct. 31 will see Ramone and the citizens of Cars Land honor Día de los Muertos as a time when families gather to remember and celebrate their loved ones with a full-sized sugar skull car, as well as a traditional “ofrenda” display honoring the late Doc Hudson.

Disneyland Park will also continue to showcase its Día de los Muertos skeleton display in Frontierland from Sept. 15 through Nov. 2.
