Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede is about to undergo a name change.

Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. is about to undergo a name change in 2018. The show will now be known as “Dolly Parton’s Stampede,” dropping the “Dixie” portion of the dinner show’s name.

This comes as an update to this show, as well as other shows operated by World Choice Investments for Dolly Parton.

“Our shows currently are identified by where they are located,” Parton said. “Some examples are Smoky Mountain Adventures or Dixie Stampede. We also recognize that attitudes change and feel that by streamlining the names of our shows, it will remove any confusing or concerts about our shows and will help our efforts to expand into new cities.”

The name change for the legacy dinner show will take effect for the 2018 season.

“There is interest in several parts of the United States and internationally to host one of our unique dinner attraction shows,” said Jim Rule, CEO of World Choice Investments. “We provide spectacular family entertainment at a great value. We continually listen to our guests and our desire to expand coupled with our desire to stay relevant in today’s changing world led us to simplify our shows’ names.”

The current locations for Dolly Parton’s Stampede will re-open for the 2018 season from late January through early spring. The Pigeon Forge location will reopen on Saturday, Jan. 20 with the show’s new title.

  1. Absolute rubbish! Leave the name alone! We go twice a year when visiting there from Ohio, and Hollywood too. The last visit may have been our last though….they got our seats wrong, the food was sub par and it is too expensive for that kind of experience. Not to mention the server was so tired she had a slight attitude, and was slow . #dixiestampede seems to have bigger issues than just their name.
