Pokémon Day will be held on April 30 at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is celebrating all things Pokémon with three exciting events on Sunday, April 30, 2017.

The first and main event is the orchestral performance, “Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions.” Performed by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra at the Walt Disney Theater, guests can experience Pokémon in a whole new way, with new arrangements and visuals from the video games, both old and new. Tickets to the performance start at $26, and begins at 2 p.m.

The Pokémon MiniCon is free for all visitors from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

The second event is a free Pokémon MiniCon, from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on the Seneff Arts Plaza.

Fans can enjoy playing Pokémon GO with special lures thrown out onto the plaza, Pokémon Trading Card Game stations, live entertainment, food trucks, Pokémon and gaming vendors, as well as a cosplay contest.

The winner of the cosplay contest will receive posters for the performance and MiniCon, as well as two tickets to see “Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions.”

The third and final event is a behind-the-scenes video and music instruction for Rollins College and Full Sail University students. 100 students from both schools who are studying music, video and show production will get an exclusive backstage learning experience involving “Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions.”

Students will be able to edit video to sync graphics and music, study the  scores and orchestrations of the arrangements with the conductor, and learn the business skills behind marketing and presenting a full stage production.
