Using monster-style ride vehicles, Gatorland’s new “Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure” attraction opens this fall.

Gatorland, the “Alligator Capital of the World,” officially broke ground on April 19 for a $2.5 million park expansion. This will be their largest expansion since first opening in 1949. Gatorland also announced the opening of the new “Gator Joe’s Adventure Outpost” and “Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure,” which are both scheduled to open this fall.

To announce “Stompin’ Gator” in style, Gatorland CEO and President Mark McHugh made his entrance to the media at the announcement event on a 12-foot high custom off-road monster vehicle – one of the new vehicles made for the attraction.

“You haven’t seen nothing yet. Get ready for even more adventure at Gatorland,” said McHugh.

This new attraction will take guests on a wild ride into a never-before-seen section on the park, showcasing the swamps that feed into the everglades. There are three monster-style off-road ride vehicles, and each seat 12 guests in addition to the driver. Each ride vehicle is decorated to represent crocodiles and alligators that make up Gatorland’s history.

“Our new adventure ride is a natural extension of all our adventure activities throughout the park […] The Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure will let guests experience Florida’s natural beauty as they venture through several different ecosystems,” explained McHugh. “They will go over hills, through mud puddles, creep through a real alligator grave yard, and splash through a pond full of hundreds of alligators, of course.”

The other new attraction announced, “Gator Joe’s Adventure Outpost,” is set to be located right in front of the “Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure.” It will serve as the park’s central location to reserve and purchase any separately-ticketed park attractions, including the “Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure,” “Gator Night Shine,” “Screamin’ Gator Zip Line,” and more.
