Gaylord Palms’ resident spooks will hosts guests for a frighteningly good time during Goblins & Giggles.

Gaylord Palms Resort invites guests to pack their best costumes for the return of Goblins & Giggles Getaway Weekends, which offers ghoulish good times inside the resort’s atrium and outside at Cypress Springs Water Park. The frighting festivities run from Sept. 15 through Oct. 29.

One of the new offerings for 2017 is Spookley the Square Pumpkin, who wants to spread the word about anti-bullying and join in on the resort’s festive fun. Spookley is the host of the Halloween Hide & Seek scavenger hunt, and guests can purchase the hunt activity booklet to solve puzzles and follow the clues to find hidden Spookleys and win prizes.

Guests at Gaylord Palms can also join in on Storytime with Morgana, the treat-making witch from Spooksville. She’ll share the story of Spookley from the best-selling children’s book. The animated film “Spookley the Square Pumpkin” will also be shown on the poolside theater screen on select nights.

Those guests feeling a bit braver can face their fears in the new Swamp Witch Escape Ghost Tour, where they step right into a Florida ghost story. A tour guide will lead visitors through the swamps inside the atrium as they tell the story of Bessie Budd-Graham, the swamp witch of Tallahassee. Guests will come face to face with Bessie herself as they work together to escape her terrible curse.

Guests can also take part in the Florida’s Haunted History Ghost Tour, which shares some of the darkest tales and most haunted places in Florida.

The guest-favorite Monster Mash Bash will get guests of all ages dancing and singing with Gaylord Palms’ local haunts, Vladimir and Morgana. The vampire and witch duo will teach guests a few moves and lead a sing-along before inviting everyone to take a chance in a costume contest for prizes.

The fun continues at Cypress Springs Water Park with the Wicked Awesome Pool Party. Vladimir the vampire will entertain guests poolside with games and other fun activities. The resort’s FlowRider, The Wake Zone, will feature the Wicked Waves Surf Show. This frightfully fun display will showcase Gaylord Palms’ flowboarders’ and their best tricks on the waves.

Each morning and night also brings family-friendly movies to the Cypress Springs stage screen with Spooky Cartoons in the morning, and Poolside Moonlight Movies in the evening with not-so-scary animated films.

Other entertainment around the resort will include the Trick or Treat Expedition, which will take guests on an adventure through the paths of the 4.5 acre glass-enclosed atrium to find candy, as well as Halloween Haunted House Decorating. Guests young and old can decorate cookie-based haunted houses to take home.

Relâche Spa will offer Create-Your-Own Treat-ments to celebrate the Halloween season. The spa staff will provide ingredients to create stubs, masks, balms and bath fizzes. Guests will be able to choose one or all four spa products to concoct and take home.

Seasonal food and drink options will also be available throughout the resort, including locations like Wreckers Sports Bar, MOOR and Villa de Flora.

Guests can book a weekend stay for the season with a Goblins & Giggles Getaway Weekends Package, which starts at $189 per night, plus tax, resort fee and parking. The package includes hotel accomodations, tickets for the Monster Mash Bash, Trick or Treat Expedition, a Halloween Hide & Seek scavenger hunt activity book, Storytime with Morgana and the poolside activities – which are only available to overnight guests.
