  1. All about profits and disregard for safety of workers who have to travel to work through rain and wind. Shame on these theme parks. Shame on them for paying them terrible wages and exploiting them every day.

  2. I thought Disney World is all about FAMILY. Looks like it is all about profit. Some of my family is there and they cannot get refund for their tickets or a come another day ticket. THIS IS BS!
SHAME on you DISNEY AND FL FOR LETTING THIS HAPPEN.

  3. Lia, sb, and the rest.
Lia, regarding the pay at Disney. No one is being forced to work at Disney. There is not one person at Disney that is bound to work there. No one is being exploited. You want better pay? become part of the skilled labor force and get a better job. The reason why they are closing Disney is because they care about their people and their guests.

sb, First Disney exists because it is a business, Not government funded. They stay in business because they turn a profit. They also employ more than 75,000 people who expect to get paid at the end of the week. Everyone has the opportunity to buy vacation insurance. When I went to London it rained every single day I was there, and guess what? I never got a refund from the Queen.

You folks see everything through such a narrow perspective. I bet that there is another group of people complaining that they are not going to be open of Friday as well. You want assurances in a world where there are none. You expect others to take care of you because you can’t take responsibility for yourselves. You see a successful company and expect that they should cover all possible issues that affect your vacation. your car broke down so you missed your cruise, your alarm didn’t go off so you missed your flight, you got motion sickness on a ride and had to leave the park, I can’t believe they checked my bag for weapons. I’ve listened to you whiners for years. It’s about time you man up and stop your complaining about how the world is taking advantage of you. you want better pay? get an education or learn a skill and get a decent job. You want your money back from a failed vacation due to mother nature, buy vacation insurance. You want a hand out? forget it. You have the ability to either create your success or your demise….You decide.

  4. I am glad Disney World is closing. No one needs to be hurt or even worse killed. I have a trip booked for this weekend as it is my birthday this Sunday. I totally respect their decisions.
    Chris,
    Sarasota Fl.

  5. Here, here to sir William Doyle. Could not agree more, this is Mother Nature at her most powerful. It is not in any of the parks interest to keep the parks closed longer than is absolutely necessary. They have been closed in the interest of public safety and necessity. Can these people that are complaining take a moment and stop thinking of just themselves and think of all of the hundreds of people that have died due to the Hurricane.
