Knott’s Spooky Farm is family-friendly fun for Halloween season

Knott's Spooky Farm
Knott’s Spooky Farm runs from Sept. 30 to Oct. 29 and Halloween Day.

Knott’s Spooky Farm, the annual family-friendly Halloween event, is back from Sept. 30 through Oct. 29, and Halloween Day.

The youthful event will feature activities for guests ages 3-11, and will include trick-or-treating, a costume contest, a Iive show with the Peanuts, and a Día de los Muertos Celebration.

Kids can participate in trick-or-treating through Ghost Town, and interact with spooky yet friendly shopkeepers. A new offering this year is the Creepy Critters of Calico, hosted by Stanley Scarecrow as he opens the Livery Stable for guests to get close to the critters.

The Grand Sierra Railroad in Camp Snoopy will take riders along with the Peanuts gang to Camp Spooky, with added special Halloween theming. Guests can visit Camp Snoopy Theatre to show off their Halloween best with the Peanuts Costume Contest, and then join the Peanuts for their Peanuts Dance Party. Families can also watch the stage show, “The Monsters Are Coming, Charlie Brown,” as they sing and dance to Halloween tunes.

The Timber Mountain Log Ride will transform into the Halloween Hootenanny, as the citizens of Timber Mountain invite the mysterious creatures from the woods to join in their Halloween celebrations. The ride will feature new surprises like the town’s green witch, the Calico Coffin Creeper Band, and a splash down through Skull Mountain into a sea of jack-o-lanterns. The ride will also feature a new original song performed by Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies. This attraction will be open for both day and night guests.

Día de los Muertos will take over Fiesta Village with an interactive, non-scary celebration. The area will include a themed walk-through village with educational activities, photo opportunities, and face painting. Guests can then visit the Ghastly Gallery in the Boardwalk Ballroom for a live show, as well as a chance for the younger guests to participate in drawing a “monsterpiece.”

Knott’s Spooky Farm runs on weekends from Sept. 30 – Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Halloween Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All fall daytime Seasons of Fun events are included with regular park admission for guests.
