New trailer released for ‘Scoob!,’ Scooby-Doo’s origin story

Fans of Scooby-Doo will soon learn the famous canine’s origin story in the first full-length animated film for the big screen, “Scoob!”.

This new film tells the story of how Scooby and Shaggy first met, and how they joined Fred, Velma, and Daphne to create the now-famous Mystery Inc.

After solving hundreds of cases and unmasking countless villains, Scooby and the gang must face their greatest adventure yet: a plot to release the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As the group races to stop this “dogpocalypse,” they’ll discover that Scooby has a secret legacy and a grand destiny awaits him.

The cast includes Zac Efron (“The Greatest Showman,” “Neighbors”) as Fred; “Will Forte (“Booksmart,” TV’s “The Last Man on Earth”) as Shaggy; Jason Isaacs (“Harry Potter,” TV’s “The OA”) as Dick Dastardly; Ken Jeong (“Crazy Rich Asians,” “The Hangover”) as Dynomutt; Kiersey Clemons (“Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” TV’s “Angie Tribeca”) as Dee Dee; Tracy Morgan (“What Men Want,” TV’s “30 Rock”) as Captain Caveman; Gina Rodriguez (“Deepwater Horizon,” TV’s “Jane the Virgin”) as Velma; Amanda Seyfried (“Mamma Mia!,” “Ted 2”) as Daphne; Mark Wahlberg (“The Fighter,” “The Departed”) as Blue Falcon; and Frank Welker (“Transformers”) as Scooby-Doo.

The film is directed by Tony Cervone, known for his work on “Space Jam” and “Duck Dodgers.”

  1. Clearly, the TV series ‘A Pup named Scooby Doo’ means nothing to them, as that was Scooby-Doo’s origin story.
    But it looks interesting. Better than the live action films back in the day
