The nine new honorees for the Disney Legends award will be recognized on July 14.

Nine influential contributors to Disney history will be honored at the D23 Expo 2017 in Anaheim, Calif. this year as official Disney Legends. The ceremony, hosted by Disney CEO and Chairman Bob Iger, will be held at 10 a.m. on July 14, during the Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center.

This year is the 30th anniversary of the first Disney Legend award, which was given to Fred MacMurray, of “The Shaggy Dog,” in 1987.

“The Disney Legends Award is the highest honor our company can bestow on an individual, reserved for those few who have truly made an indelible mark on the history of The Walt Disney Company,” said Iger. “It’s a celebration of talent, a recognition of achievement, and an expression of gratitude to the men and women whose work has significantly contributed to Disney’s enduring reputation for creative excellence.”

The 2017 honorees of the Disney Legend Award are:

  • Carrie Fisher
  • Mark Hamill
  • Stan Lee
  • Manuel Gonzales
  • Clyde “Gerry” Geronimi
  • Julie Taymor
  • Garry Marshall
  • Oprah Winfrey

Those receiving the award will be given a two-foot-tall bronze Disney Legends sculpture, as well as participate in the traditional handprint ceremony. Their bronzed prints will remain on display at the Company’s Burbank offices in the Disney Legends Plaza.

Admission to the ceremony this year is first-come, first serve, and is included in the ticket price to the D23 Expo 2017. Tickets can still be purchased to attend the Expo at $81 for a one-day adult admission, and $59 for children ages 3-9. D23 Club members can purchase tickets at a discounted rate of $72 for adults and $53 for children. Multiple-day tickets are also available for purchase.
