Old Town to hold day-long American Hero Fest

Old Town is celebrating the men and women who dedicate their lives each day to protecting and saving others in a day-long park-wide festival. “American Hero Fest” will be held on April 29, 2012 to honor armed forces personnel, police, fire department and emergency services workers.

Free entertainment will run from noon to 8 p.m. including live music, stilt walkers and more. Visitors can enjoy Old Town’s 21 rides and attractions, a meal at any of seven restaurants and browse more than 80 specialty shops.

Old Town is raffling off a chance to ride in a vintage T-6 Texan airplane as it flies over the park during the American Hero Fest. Raffle tickets are available at the Old Town ticket booths.

Special discounts will be offered to retired and active military, law enforcement, fire department and emergency response workers and their families at many of Old Town’s shops, restaurants and rides. The honorees need only show military ID or proof of employment.
