Snow and Ice in the forecast at Gaylord Palms – Photos/Video

One of Orlando’s newest holiday traditions is back. Ice! at Gaylord Palms Hotel has returned and it’s brought Snow! with it.

This year’s theme is the traditional tale of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”. You’ll see some large sleeping mice, kids all smug in their beds, and of course, Santa Claus – all made out of ice. Of course, to keep the two million pounds of ice sculptures frozen, it has to be cold. Come dressed for nine degree weather. Coats are provided but you may want to bring gloves and wear long pants and maybe an extra hat.

Returning are the ice slides that adults and kids can enjoy and the clear ice nativity scene. Your cold body may be telling to to get out soon, but your eyes will be wanting to stay and marvel at all the cool details (pun intended).

A new attraction called Snow! has been added this year. For a separate fee, Snow! features 40 tons of real snow and carnival games, a play area and a Kiddie Snow Tube Run.

We sent our kid reporters to brave the ice and snow. Here’s their video report:

  1. Can you be more specific in regards to Snow portion? We were thinking of taking the kids to this. I have read that the Ice portion is a real quick walk through and very pricey.
