Royal Caribbean International announces new Perfect Day Island Collection

Royal Caribbean International has released details on their new Perfect Day Island Collection, a series of private island destinations around the world.

The first in the collection, called Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas, will host a variety of unique experiences and features, like racing down the tallest waterslide in North America, or riding the tide of the Caribbean’s largest wave pool.

Guests can also take in views of the Bahamas from a helium balloon 450 feet in the air, or unwind at the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean, all to create their perfect vacation day as they envision it.

“At Royal Caribbean, it’s not just about the hardware. It’s true that our new ships are technological and engineering marvels in their own right, and offer a multitude of unexpected experiences. Our destinations are an equally important part of the cruise vacation,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “We are introducing Perfect Day Island Collection to ensure that we deliver the most memorable vacation for adventure seekers on land, as well as on board our ships.”

Starting in May, Royal Caribbean’s new Perfect Day at CocoCay will offer plenty of discoveries and moments across seven island experiences.

A Perfect Day Begins

Kicking off the day, guests will visit the arrivals plaza as soon as they step ashore the island. Guests can enjoy a welcoming party of live music or brave a zip line ride across the harbor; get soaked by over 30 water cannons on a shipwrecked Galleon or by the spout of Sprayaway Geyser, spraying water 82 feet in the air.

Royal Caribbean’s largest Splashaway Bay will give kids even more to do thanks to their pools, fountains, sprinklers, water cannons, geysers and whirlpools, along with five kid-sized waterslides and two drench buckets.

At Captain Jack’s, the island hang out spot, guests can relax and grab a drink at the rowboat bar and enjoy views of the water while they snack on steak fries and chicken wings. For guests looking for a more nautical vibe, Skipper’s Grill is perfect for foodie favorites like sandwiches, burgers, salads and tacos.

Thrill Seekers’ Paradise

Thrill Waterpark will be located in the heart of Perfect Day at CocoCay, where the bravest of guests can conquer two water towers with 13 slides, as well as the Caribbean’s largest wave pool and a kid-friendly obstacle course pool. Other features of the waterpark will include:

• Daredevil’s Tower – Guests will have their limits tested on seven slides, including twin Dueling Demons drop slides and the duo of Manta Raycers; the high-speed, vertical Screeching Serpent; the Green Mamba; and the 135-foot-tall Daredevil’s Peak, the tallest

  

  waterslide in North America.

• Family Tower – Groups seeking adventure can share in the thrills with six multi-riderslides, including The Twister, a winding tube slide for two sharing a raft; The Slingshot, a zero-gravity slide for four people; and the four-lane Splash Speedway racing slides.

Adventurous types of all ages can take on the tide in the wave pool, or fly high above the island on a 1,6000-foot zip line and end in the only splash water landing in the region. At Adventure Pool, younger guests will find an obstacle course with lily pads, a rock wall and swing ropes.

Play it Cool in the Freshwater Pool

At Oasis Lagoon, guests of all ages can enjoy the Caribbean’s largest freshwater pool, along with its three unique coves to explore. Guests can head in at the kid-friendly beach entry, sip on a frosty Coco Loco at the swim-up bar, and then catch some rays on one of the three mini swim-up islands with in-water loungers. Private cabanas are also available, complete with their own cabana attendant.

Take to the Skies

With Up, Up and Away, guests can score a unique view while floating 450 feet above Perfect Day at CocoCay in a helium balloon. This attraction will be visible from anywhere on the island, as well as from the ships docked in port.

Find Your Oasis

Guests can find their beach escape on Chill Island, with crystal-clear waters and white, powdery sand. Chill Grill, the largest dining venue on the island, will offer beachside dining for guests. Guests can also find their favorite beach day activities here, like boat tours, wave runner excursions, snorkeling, as well as cabanas and daybeds for when they need to relax. Beach bars with roaming bartenders will also be found here.

Guests can fuel their competitive side on South Beach with volleyball, soccer, backside basketball, glass-bottom kayaking, paddle boarding, or even zorbing in an inflatable zorb ball. If hunger strikes, guests can grab a bite at the Snack Shack, or check out the floating bar. Teepee cabanas, as well as daybeds, will be available for those needing a little more rest and relaxation.

Find Your Perfect Day

At the exclusive Coco Beach Club, guests can experience an upscale version of the island’s Caribbean aesthetic. The first and only overwater cabanas in the Bahamas can be found here, offering a laidback luxury for guests.

With an overwater hammock, waterslide and even a private attendant, guests can have every need satisfied.

Guests can also enjoy a freshwater infinity edge pool and bar, or eat at an exclusive dining venue serving up Mediterranean fare.

“When you name a place Perfect Day, you’re making a big, bold claim, but it’s one we’re going to deliver on,” said Bayley.

Perfect Day in CocoCay will open in phases, starting this May. Coco Beach Club will be the final experience to open, and is set to be completed by November. Additional Perfect Day Island Collection locations in Australia, Asia and the Caribbean will be announced at a later date.
