Shanghai Disney Resort celebrates ‘Splashing Summer’ with new entertainment and seasonal offerings

This summer, as Shanghai Disney Resort celebrates its second anniversary, new summer fun and seasonal offerings will roll out across the resort as part of their “Splashing Summer” event.

Starting June 16, Shanghai Disney Resort will host a new summer atmosphere for guests to enjoy the new summer entertainment, food and beverage offerings, shop for new merchandise and discover new activities in Disneytown.

Summer Entertainment

Cool Zones will be found throughout Shanghai Disneyland, where guests can beat the heat and rest in fun and refreshing misty areas.

Part of the new Disney/Pixar Toy Story Land will be transformed into a water-blast-world with Famer Al’s Splash Around, which will help cool off guests as well as keep them entertained. Thought the day, some of Andy’s toys will host an interactive water play performance that will immerse guests in the new world of toys.

The popular stage show, “Summer Blast,” will return to the stage at Enchanted Storybook Castle, with many performances held each day. The show features classic Disney characters, water, energetic performers and several new surprises.

Duffy’s Splashing Pre-Parade will delight guests before they see Mickey’s Storybook Express this summer. This pre-parade, led by Duffy and ShellieMay, will give guests cool spritzes of water as they, and dancers with hand-held soakers, travel down the parade route as they cool off guests.

This year, Gelatoni and StellaLou, Duffy’s friends, will also be a part of the parade fun on an all-new float. Guests can also join in on the fun with two grand marshal cars that will be part of this summer celebration.

Seasonal food and beverage offerings

This summer, guests can find new drink offerings, including the StellaLou Fantasy Dreamer served in a StellaLou souvenir cup, Mickey honey pomelo slushes in Mickey souvenir cups, Toy Story Souvenir Sips, Donald’s Special Cooler and more.

New desserts, like the Stitch spiral sundae, mango frozen yogurt sundae, Mickey marshmallow brownie and the Olaf strawberry fruit tart at Remy’s Patisserie, will hit the spot for guests who need to satisfy their sweet tooth.

The Toy Box Café will serve up new dishes like braised seafood rice and roasted pork ribs and wheat grass with potato chips, while the Mickey & Pals Market Café, Pinocchio Village Kitchen and Wandering Moon Restaurant will feature new additions like tomato beef brisket rice, soup noodle with prawns, and salt duck leg with pork noodle soup.

Royal Banquet Hall’s new seasonal menus will include gourmet appetizers and entrees with a special lobster menu, plus sweet desserts like the StellaLou frozen ice cake. Hotel guests can also enjoy new a-la-carte additions at Aurora, and summer seasonal beverages at Lumiere’s Kitchen.

Keep cool with summer merchandise

Shanghai Disney Resort will offer over 50 new seasonal merchandise products and limited edition pins this summer. The tropical, beach-inspired collections feature Mickey and friends with summertime seaside images.

Guests can find new apparel with Disney characters, accessories like the new blue summer Mickey sunglasses, and the popular Millennial Pink Minnie sequin headband ears.

This summer also brings a new Duffy and friends summer line, which includes Duffy and ShellieMay plush, a ShellieMay headband, foldable shopping bags, ShellieMay and StellaLou tees and more.

Other new items include an exclusive Shanghai Disney Resort family beach towel, misty fans, straw and bucket-style sun hats, and the popular pink Minnie UV-proof umbrella.

Summer entertainment and activities come to Disneytown

Disneytown will play host to a variety of summer-inspired activities perfect for families and friends to enjoy together.

During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, a soccer camp will be held each weekend from June 23 – July 15, where guests can come and train. Once the World Cup ends, the area will be transformed for guests to work out and practice body combat and yoga in the evenings from July 21 – Sept. 2. During the same timeframe, on Fridays and Saturdays, a movie night on the lawn will be held to showcase Disney films on an open-air screen.
