Silver Spurs Rodeo brings Monster Bulls event to Kissimmee on Feb. 10

The Silver Spurs Club has announced that its 7th Annual Monster Bulls event, along with the 140th Silver Spurs Rodeo will be coming to Kissimmee, Fla. on Feb. 10 and 16-18.

Real rodeo cowboys and cowgirls will be competing against the clock for a year’s worth of bragging rights and $100,000 in prize money during the event.

The Silver Spurs Club is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that was started in 1941 by Osceola County ranchers who started the rodeo in 1944, and sold war bonds as admission to help raise money for the military.

Kicking off the rodeo week will be the 7th Annual Monster Bulls competition on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. During this show, cowboys will try their luck with some of the most unpredictable livestock in the U.S. in front of thousands of guests. For this year, the Silver Spurs organization will donate $1 for every ticket sold to the Florida Hospital Foundation that will go toward breast cancer research, support and treatment.

The 140th Silver Spurs Rodeo, taking place on Feb. 16-17 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 18 at 2 p.m., will benefit the Guardian ad Litem Program of Osceola County.

This event will feature bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, women’s barrel racing, tie-down roping, team roping and steer wrestling. In addition to the rodeo festivities, there will be performances by rodeo clown Robbie Hodges and the Silver Spurs Club’s calf scramble.

Tickets to Monster Bulls are $15 per adult, and children ages 10 and under get in free. For the Silver Spurs Rodeo’s performances on Friday and Sunday, tickets are $15 per person with children 10 and under are free. For Saturday night, tickets to the Silver Spurs Rodeo are $20 per adult with children 10 and under free.

Monster Bulls and Silver Spurs Rodeo ticket purchases will also include admission to the Osceola County Fair, which will run from Feb. 9-18, and is adjacent to the Silver Spurs Arena.
