Space Shuttle Discovery launch photos and video
I was recently lucky enough to be invited by my neighbor to visit Kennedy Space Center to watch the Space Shuttle take-off this past Tuesday. We not only got to be at the Center, but we were able to watch from the closest spot anyone’s allowed to stand.
While I’ve watched launches from my Orlando home’s backyard, this was my first time to see it up close. Our reserved spot was closer than the media could go and by invitation only. It’s about three and a half miles from the launch pad.
Look for an article about watching the launches from the Kennedy Space Center in a future issue of Orlando Attractions Magazine.

what do you do in order to be invited to the VIP viewing area?
I’ve been to the causeway but it is still 6-7 miles away.
Thanks,

I’m not sure. I was invited by a friend who’s wife sells advertising to the company that runs Kennedy Space Center.
