Lisa Ann Schreier is a local expert in the business of buying and selling timeshares. We met Lisa Ann at a recent travel expo and thought her insights would be of interest to our readers. Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for her article in the magazine, so we bring it to you here in its entirety.
What You Need To Know About Timeshares and Timeshare Offers
By Lisa Ann Schreier
So, you’re visiting Orlando. Whether this is your first or 51st visit to our area, we welcome you and appreciate that you’ve chosen us to be your vacation destination. No matter where in the area you visit; theme parks, restaurants or shopping, you are bound to encounter the timeshare offers that our little slice of vacation paradise is rife with.
First things first – timeshare, or vacation ownership as it is sometimes called, is nothing more than the difference between renting your vacation accommodations, such as a hotel or motel; and owning your vacation accommodations. And while you can of course return to your home resort every year, timeshares offer you upwards of 6,000 resorts worldwide that you can trade into. While that seems straightforward enough, the various forms of ownership and how to use those products can be confusing. [Read more…]
Take a look at the soon to open Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Nestled in natural forest glens near Downtown Disney, all 60 of the three-bedroom homes are elevated 10 feet off the ground on pedestals and beams designed to blend into the environment.
These new Disney Vacation Club villas sleep nine comfortably while offering modern luxuries such as flat-screen TVs, granite countertops, full kitchens and cathedral ceilings.
Be sure to get your copy of the upcoming Summer 2009 issue of Orlando Attractions Magazine to read more about the Treehouse Villas and the new Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Disney held an “Open Mouse” today for cast members to get a look at their newest vacation club resort, Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Here are a few pictures of the resort. For more photos and information, buy a copy of our upcoming Summer issue. We’ll have a full story on the new resort and restaurant.
Above is a look at the main building from the walkway behind.
Although the Kidani Village, which opens May 1, is part of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC), if there’s space available, anyone can stay there. Stay with me here as I explain how this resort fits in with the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Jambo House is the name of the current Animal Kingdom Lodge. It’s a regular hotel except for the top two floors, which are part of the DVC. The name Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas refers to the DVC accommodations at both Jambo House and Kidani Village. So, the name Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge now refers to the entire site – Jambo House (hotel and DVC) and Kidani Village. To further complicate things, Kidani Village is just phase one of the new DVC resort. Phase two, Pembe Savanna, will open this fall.
The lobby of Kidani Village.
As you walk to the back of the lobby, you’ll see this view looking out at the savanna, where the animals roam.

This is just part of Uwanja Camp, the water play area. The large Samwawati Springs Pool and the Survival of the Fittest Health Club are nearby.
