The Mommies – A Musical Blog now playing at the Orlando Science Center

A new show by Orlando resident Jeanie Linders, writer and producer of Menopause The Musical, is now playing at the Orlando Science Center’s Darden Adventure Theater. It’s The Mommies- A Musical Blog.

The play introduces a divorced mom, a working mom, a soccer mom, a sexy mom and a stay-at-home mom to each other through the magic of the internet.

The Mommies – A Musical Blog includes 16 original songs including The Bump, POOP!, Living in a Warzone!, and I’ll Always Be Your Mother. The play discusses what mothers go through from cradle to college when raising a child. From trying to conceive, the joys of pregnancy, and conquering postpartum depression the musical is a comedy that reminds viewers that “Mommies Rock!”

The Mommies – A Musical Blog is not only about the joys and the ‘oh, (sigh) joys’ of mothering,” according to Linders, “but it embodies the lifestyles of today’s moms who shop, socialize, share tips, and seeks solace in cyberspace. I saw this show as a Glee for mothers or anyone who has a mom or knows one,” she said. “Unlike Menopause in which the music was parodied or re-lyriced, all songs are original and run the gamut from rap to hip hop, pop to country, ballroom to an amazing ballad.”

Starring in the production of The Mommies – A Musical Blog are Katie Barnett, Michelle Boroughs, Jorie Janeway, Jennica McCleary and Adrienne Walker.

The 90-minute show runs without intermission through Nov. 20. Free parking is available at the Orlando Science Center Parking Garage off Princeton Street after 5 p.m. Special ticket promotional opportunities are available at themommies.com
