The Walt Disney Studios to bring upcoming film slate to D23 Expo 2017

With just a week to go, the D23 Expo 2017 will become even more exciting with The Walt Disney Studios giving attendees an exclusive look at their film slate at the Anaheim Convention Center from July 14-16.

During two Hall D23 presentations, the Studio will give fans a sneak peek at their upcoming releases, including animated films from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios on July 14, as well as live-action films from Marvel Studios, Disney and Lucasfilm on July 15.

The films that will be featured during the presentations are still unknown, but the Studio’s current slate of films include Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2;” Pixar’s “Coco;” Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Black Panther;” Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns” and “A Wrinkle in Time;” and Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

In addition to the two Hall D23 presentations, a new event will take place on Sunday, July 16: “Celebration of an Animated Classic: The Lion King” will be held in the D23 Expo Arena, as director Rob Minkoff, producer Don Hahn, animators Tony Bancroft and Mark Henn, as well as a few special guests will attend as guests take a look back at the Disney animated film.

  • Friday July 14, 2:30 p.m. – Hall D23
    • John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, will unveil never-before-seen footage and announcements on Disney’s upcoming animated films.
• Disney, Marvel Studios & Lucasfilm – Live Action at The Walt Disney Studios
  • Saturday, July 15, 10:30 a.m. – Hall D23
    • The Walt Disney Studios will present first looks at their upcoming live action films from Disney, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm, as well as host surprise appearances and never-before-seen-footage.
• Celebration of an Animated Classic: “The Lion King”
  • Sunday, July 16, 10 a.m. – D23 Expo Arena
    • Join the filmmaking team behind “The Lion King” as they take a look back and reveal the secrets behind making the Disney classic, as well as feature some surprise guests.

Tickets for D23 Expo are available for $81 for single-day adult admission and $59 for children ages 3-9. D23: The Official Disney Fan Club members can purchase tickets as a special rate of $72 for single-day adult admission and $53 for children. Multi-day tickets and Saturday single-day tickets are currently sold out, but Friday and Sunday single-day tickets are still available.
