Disney is closing their Speedway this summer, which means Richard Petty’s Driving Experience and the Exotic Driving Experience will be closing their locations there as well.

Petty Holdings, operator of the two driving attractions at Walt Disney World Speedway, confirmed that starting July 1, 2015, they will no longer operate out of the Speedway. Disney hasn’t given many details for the closing other than stating they will be making transportation modifications.

Disney World Spokesperson Marilyn Waters stated, “We thank the Richard Petty team for the many exciting experiences and memories they helped create for our guests.”

Petty Holdings Vice President Bill Scott said, “Our main focus at this moment is taking care of our staff and preparing them for the upcoming transition Any reserved guests prior to July 1 will have the same fantastic experience that we have delivered since 1997 at Walt Disney World Speedway.”

Anyone booked after June 30 can call 1-800-237-3889 to reschedule their experience at any of Petty’s 14 locations nationwide – including the location at Daytona International Speedway. Petty currently has plans in process for exotics and stock car programs elsewhere in Orlando.
