WaZoo beer festival comes to Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo this weekend

The WaZoo Beer Fest is back at Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa for the 17th year in a row. The WaZoo Beer Fest is recognized as one of the “10 Great Beer Festivals in the Country” by USA Today and takes place this Saturday, Aug. 4 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Included with admission, beer aficionados can sample a variety of brews including lagers, porters, stouts, browns, ambers, wheats, ales, ciders, pilsners, draughts and more from international and independent brewers. Hundreds of vendors and event volunteers will pour more than 250 types of beer from 70 breweries worldwide. Guests can also snack on finger foods from favorite local eateries like Datz Deli, IKEA Tampa Restaurant, Tijuana Flats, Tampa Bay Brewing Company, Whole Foods Market and more.

For entertainment, guests will enjoy great live music from local artists presented by World of Beer. Headliner One Mile Final with special guest Early Morning Project will play the World of Beer Main Stage. Additional artists include The Paper Stanleys, Kim Harpo and The Hawks and Colt Clark.

Tickets are available online at LowryParkZoo.com or by phone 813-935-8552 ext. 276 in advance, or at the door the night of the event. General admission tickets are $60 in advance or $65 at the door the night of the event. To set up for Wazoo, the Zoo will close at 4 p.m. Aug. 4. Animals are not on exhibit during the event. Due to the nature of the event and number of guests in attendance, strollers are not permitted.

The Zoo is partnering with United Cab Company to encourage responsible consumption. Following the event, United will offer free rides home in Hillsborough County. Event guests must be going to a residence or lodging within Hillsborough County. (The cab driver will not take passengers to other events, restaurants or bars for free).
