Aquatica to hold Polar Plunge Special Olympics benefit on Feb. 1

Polar Plunge at aquatica

Aquatica is usually warm and tropical, but once a year participants can experience the thrill of the chill, all while supporting a great cause.

On Feb. 1, 2014, Aquatica will be hosting the 5th Annual Polar Plunge benefitting Special Olympics Florida. Polar Plunge is a statewide fundraiser during which individuals and teams raise money for the privilege of plunging into the chilled down wave pool alongside Special Olympics athletes.

After taking the plunge, participants have access to the park for the day. Last year, more than 1,100 people took the plunge to benefit Special Olympics Florida. Plungers who raise more than $100 can earn extra incentives, including Aquatica and SeaWorld tickets and admission to Discovery Cove.

By participating in the Polar Plunge, plungers help athletes to learn new skills, make new friends, and improve their health and confidence. You can register for the plunge at plungeFL.org.
