Arabian Nights dinner show closing permanently at end of 2013

After a 25 years of near daily performances in Kissimmee, the Arabian Nights dinner show has announced it will close permanently on Jan. 1, 2014.

Since it started on Feb. 29, 1988, more than 10,000 shows have been performed for more than 10 million guests.

“It has been an honor sharing my passion for the beauty and magic of horses with people from all walks of life over the last 25 years,” said Owner Mark Miller. “Unfortunately, we have reached a point where the marketplace demands a cheaper product than we can provide.

“Just this last August, we once again won the 2013 Orlando Sentinel Award as Best Dinner Show, proving that our quality is still unmatched. I always believed there would be a place for a first class secondary attraction in this market. I was mistaken.

“Our mission now is to present the best possible product for the rest of the year so that the people who have loved us over the years will be able to come back and experience the magic of our show one last time. Then we will be concentrating on how to assist our incredible staff in handling this transition,” Miller added.

The Arabian Nights Christmas show will run from Dec. 1 to 31. These final shows will be offered at half-price for Central Florida Residents by phone or at the box office only, with Florida ID.

Arabian Nights’ parent company, Park Equus Inc., will continue operations and has stated that at the time of closing on Dec. 31, Arabian Nights will have no due payables.

Arabian Nights updated their show earlier this year. For a look at the attraction and the latest update, see the segment in the Sept. 5, 2013 episode of “Orlando Attractions Magazine – The Show”:

  1. It’s quite sad to see that institute go although to be hones I’ve never been there. Because of the horses and sawdust these kind of show are a no go for astma patients. I hope the hard working people of the show will find new jobs fast.

  2. Wow, this is a really sad outcome.
Arabian nights is without doubt one of the best dinner show attractions and we will really miss this.
I feel so sorry for the team and hope that they all find great work elsewhere.
On a slightly positive note, all credit to the management for ‘closing’ the show without owing their creditors. Such business attitudes are becoming increasingly rare and makes this story even more upsetting!

Good luck to Mark and his team with their futures!

  3. It’s a shame its closing.Ive been there for both its shows and amazing after parties. It was a time honored tradition for many world famous djs to perform there, but many unforgetable memories were made there and we will always have those.
