Cedar Point Shores, Cedar Point’s new waterpark, is now open to guests.

Cedar Point opens its new waterpark, Cedar Point Shores today, located on the park’s shoreline on Lake Erie in Ohio. This new waterpark is 18 acres of thrills for guests of all ages.

“This is a unique time in Cedar Point’s history. As the park evolves with the latest and greatest attractions, we will never lose sight of how we started,” said Jason McClure, the Vice President and General Manager of Cedar Point. “Cedar Point Shores is a direct nod to our past as it existed on the Lake Erie shoreline. Only today, new and exciting thrills are available right alongside the beach that has, and sill continue to bring families together.”

Cedar Point Shores hosts 17 water attractions, including the new Point Plummet, a six-story aqua-drop body slide. Each rider climbs into an individual capsule at the top of the tower, and the floor is dropped out from underneath them as they take a twisting and turning journey down the tunnel. Non-riders can also enjoy the experience with special monitors that show the excited and frightened faces of those who ride.

Pointside Plunge also provides great thrills, as riders can go solo or with a friend on an inner tube adventure through an enclosed tunnel and into the sunlight before splashing down into a pool.

The Lake Erie monster comes to life at Cedar Point Shores as well, in the Lemmy’s Lagoon children’s area. Smaller guests can splash and play, as “Lemmy” the monster rises from the shallow pool, surrounded by geysers, sandcastles and more.

Lakeside Landing, just beside Lemmy’s Lagoon, is also a place for young ones to experience some excitement of their own. With 12 smaller slides and a shallow pool, parents and kids can have some family fun in the sun, as well as stay cool in expanded shaded areas.

Cedar Point Shores also has many dining options for guests, including the Crystal Rock Café, named after the Crystal Rock Castle that was in Cedar Point in the early 1900s. This dining location serves pizza, gourmet salads, seafood, fresh chicken wraps, and other exclusive menu items.

Beaches & Cream will also get an update with a new custom ice cream flavor added to the menu. With a refreshing taste of cotton candy, this ice cream flavor is reminiscent of Cedar Point’s history. The flavor is made thanks to Sandusky’s Toft Dairy, who created two other ice cream flavors for the park.

Adults have their own treat with a brand new custom brew called Shandy Shores, available at Schooner’s Bayside Bar and Muffleheads Beach Bar. Shandy Shores was first featured at Cedar Point’s Brew & BBQ event earlier this year, and features a mix of mango and blood orange flavors.

Cedar Point Shores will also be the home to live entertainment, with Cedar Point Beach Band and the Toes in the Sand Band. Both bands will play popular guest favorites at select times throughout the summer.

Cedar Point Shores offerings don’t stop at the attractions, but also include a brand new entrance; walkways; changing and shaded areas for guests; a new merchandise location, Sandals Souvenirs and Sundries; as well as luxury cabanas located along the Breakwater Bay wave pool.

Guests are able to receive free admission to Cedar Point Shores with a stay at one of Cedar Point’s hotels, as well as a one, two or three-day admission to Cedar Point. A hotel stay also includes early access and entry to both parks, as well as discounted admission to the park.

Platinum Passes are also available, which includes unlimited admission to both Cedar Point and Cedar Point Shores, as well as discounts on food and merchandise, early entry into the parks, access to pass holder events, exclusive ride nights, free parking and more. Prices go up on May 30 for the Platinum Pass, which currently costs $210.
