Celebrate Earth Day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with Party for the Planet on April 21-23

Join the Party for the Planet at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to celebrate Earth Day all weekend.

Walt Disney World guests can honor Earth Day by participating in Party for the Planet activities at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on April 21-23.

Party for the Planet is described as “a fun and festive way to connect with nature and be inspired to protect our planet” through a variety of special offerings at Animal Kingdom, which offer opportunities to explore the nature and wildlife of the park. Guests visiting over the weekend of April 21-23 should pick up a Party for the Planet Times Guide when entering the park to help you plan the day. While in the Oasis, guests can also select one of 10 different animal cut-outs (while supplies last), with which they are encourage to take photos for sharing on social media using the hashtag #DisneyAnimals.

Activities and experiences that have been added to Animal Kingdom for the Party for the Planet include:

Nature Bingo
Location: The Oasis near the wallaby exhibit
Description: Explore the natural habitats of the Oasis while searching for items featured on your Bingo card.

Simba Says
Location: Discovery Island near Viva Gaia Street Band!
Description: Test your knowledge of animals and their behaviors during this Simon Says-inspired activity.

Wildlife Corridors

Location: Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail
Description: Use your creativity and problem-solving skills to build a model wildlife corridor.

Migration Rocks!
Location: Conservation Station
Description: Put together a puzzle and uncover some of the challenges migratory birds face during their travels.

A Leopard’s Journey
Location: Near Tiger Overlook at Maharajah Jungle Trek
Description: Track a snow leopard using the same tools as a field biologist. You can also pick up a free activity packet (while supplies last) based on the film Born in China.

Measure Your Footprint
Location: Near “Cementasaurus” in DinoLand U.S.A.
Description: Answer a series of questions to determine the size of your environmental footprint.

Animal Care Experts
Additional animal care experts will be on hand throughout Party for the Planet, so you’ll have more chances to see animal enrichment programs, trainings and feedings, and ask the experts questions about animals.

Flights of Wonder Show Enhancement
Before and during select Flights of Wonder shows, enjoy an enhanced learning experience and animal encounter led by a veterinarian and Natural Encounters, Inc.

Face Painting
Transform your look with a nature-inspired design. Face-paint artists will be located at Rafiki’s Planet Watch.

Food and Shopping
Disney will be serving specialty Party for the Planet chocolate cupcakes with chocolate mousse filling and buttercream icing at Creature Comforts and Isle of Java in Discovery Island, as well as panda-themed cookies and candy apples at Zuri’s Sweets Shop in Africa.

Guests can also shop for merchandise inspired by nature and wildlife from special conservation-savvy vendors who will be at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park from April 19 through 23, 2017, including Boiled Books (featuring embossed artwork and stationery created with pressed natural elements, like leaves, flowers and seeds), Petal Pushers (a purveyor of giftable plants), and Jortra (selling handmade jewelry made from coffee beans, orange peels and cantaloupe seeds). These vendors can be found outside Island Merchantile on Discovery Island and at Mombasa Marketplace in Africa.

PhotoPass
Finally, Disney PhotoPass Photographers will be able to capture your Party for the Planet experience and enhance your photos with Earth Day-inspired overlays, available on-site and online, including a Disneynature Born in China-themed “magic shot.” Event-specific photo frames can be used at Disney PhotoPass Photographer locations in front of the Tree of Life.
