A Celebration of Harry Potter will not return to Universal Orlando Resort in 2019
Universal Orlando Resort has released an official statement regarding the status of the annual Harry Potter fan gathering, A Celebration of Harry Potter: The fan experience will not be hosted at Universal Orlando in 2019.
Per a statement from Universal, the park is “working on exciting new experiences for guests to continue to celebrate The Wizarding World next year. These include the all-new thrill ride coming to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade and additional fan experiences that have yet to be announced.”
These fan events will likely be similar to the recent Back to Hogwarts event, held on Sept. 1 to kick off what is traditionally seen as the start of the wizarding school year.
The statement continues, “While our focus on these fan experiences means we will not be hosting A Celebration of Harry Potter in 2019, we and other Universal theme parks will always be looking for opportunities to host special Wizarding World experiences.”
No other details have been made public at this time. No additional fan events have been announced since Back to Hogwarts.

Nooooo !! I’m so disappointed!! This was our favorite Harry Potter “celebration”. I’m glad we went so many times!! Can’t wait to see what’s next!!
Very very disappointed -my daughter and her friends have been preparing their costumes since the last celebration. I cant believe this – how does it really affect anything as far as the Wizarding World goes? Makes no sense.
Me and my wife were super bummed to hear they cancelled this. Our first time attending the Harry Potter Celebration was 2018, and we were hoping to make it a yearly experience for us. It was so amazing and well organized….I can only hope they revive it someday.
