Kids can learn drawing skills from a former Disney animator at Crayola Experience this month.

Peter Raymundo, former Walt Disney Studios animator and the author and illustrator of “Third Grade Mermaid” is teaming up with Crayola Experience Orlando this month to offer free drawing workshops for kids.

The classes will be held each Saturday through the end of February, and each class will begin at 10 a.m.

Raymundo, who worked on Disney films like “Tarzan,” “Lilo and Stitch” and “The Princess and the Frog,” will teach kids how to draw his own unique sea life characters – including mermaids, whales and narwhals – from his novel-length children’s picture book, “Third Grade Mermaid.”

“We feel that this is a great way to encourage reading and creativity for our young guests and offer them interaction with an author and artist,” said Jackie Vasquez, marketing and sales manager.

The drawing workshops are free with admission to Crayola Experience, though registration is required as space is limited. You can find the registration form online here. All participants must be at least age 5 or older to take part in the workshop.
