Disney Imagineering legend to host lecture at UCF

Former head of Walt Disney Imagineering, Marty Sklar, will be at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management on Friday, May 13, where he will be hosting a lecture and a Q&A session.

Sklar joined the Disney team in 1955 and was a Disney cast member for 55 years, working directly with Walt Disney himself. The Disney legend will also be available for a private event, “Dinner and Story Time with Marty Sklar,” hosted at the Oceanaire Seafood Room on International Drive at Pointe Orlando, which is available through an eBay auction, and can be bid on here, with a starting bid of $150. The event includes dinner, drink service, and a seat at a table with Mr. Sklar.

The lecture and Q&A is being put on by Rosen’s Future Theme Park Leaders Association (FTPLA) student organization, with all proceeds being given equally to the Ryman Arts Foundation and Give Kids the World. Will call for the event opens at 3 p.m. and the event itself starts at 4 p.m. in the Darden Auditorium on the Rosen campus. In addition, following Sklar’s appearance, guests are invited to attend a networking mixer in the Rosen courtyard.

Tickets for the event are $15 for students and $25 for the general public, and are available for purchase here.
