A look at how the international Disney parks are celebrating the holidays
Disney Parks around the world are celebrating the most magical time of year with special holiday celebrations and experiences, now through the new year.
Disneyland Paris
Grab a cup of hot chocolate and head to Disneyland Paris to see a larger-than-life advent calendar in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
This holiday season, can catch the Disney Christmas Parade not once, but twice daily as it trots down a snow-dusted Main Street, U.S.A. Be sure to keep an eye out for Stitch on the Royal Castle Stage as he wrecks the halls in “A Merry Stitchmas.”
One show not to be missed is “Mickey’s Christmas Big Band” at Walt Disney Studios Park, which features a drum solo performed by the mouse himself! A new show called “Surprise Mickey!” will give guests the chance to joining a special birthday surprise while celebrating the holiday season.
Bring your day to a close with “Goofy’s Incredible Christmas,” a nighttime projection show with special effects and plenty of the Goof on the façade of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
Tokyo Disney Resort
This year, Tokyo Disneyland is celebrating Christmas times 35 for the resort’s 35th anniversary!
This milestone is commemorated with a beautiful Christmas tree on the Fantasyland side of Cinderella Castle, with the 35th anniversary logo incorporated throughout its decorations.
Over at Tokyo DisneySea, “It’s Christmas Time,” a new stage show, brings colorful holiday fun to the Mediterranean Harbor every day.
Shanghai Disney Resort
Dreams of a white Christmas will come true this year at Shanghai Disneyland. A magical snowfall will take place nightly during the new “Mickey Avenue Winter Wonderland” show. Guests can watch “When We’re Together” tree lighting ceremony at Enchanted Storybook Castle and see an appearance by the lovable snowman Olaf.
If you’re looking for a classic holiday activity, the resort’s new Wishing Star Skating Rink will provide that quintessential ice skating experience in the center of Disneytown Christmas Market starting Dec. 7.
Hong Kong Disneyland
Over at Hong Kong Disneyland, the parks’ Fantasy Gardens have been transformed into the Fantasy Gardens Wintertime Market.
If caroling is more your style, join Mickey and his friends during a “Mickey and Friends Christmastime Ball.” This 20-minute musical display will get you in the spirit of the season. All your favorite Disney characters will come together to celebrate the holidays, including Duffy’s newest friend Cookie – joining the Christmas celebration for the first time ever!
No matter where you’re spending the holidays this year, it’s sure to be a magical time at the Disney Parks all over the world!
