Fire closes Escape from Pompeii ride at Busch Gardens Williamsburg

The Escape from Pompeii attraction at Busch Gardens Williamsburg caught on fire this past weekend and is now closed until further notice.

On Saturday, July 21, a small fire on the roof of the water ride broke out. The ride was not operating at the time, nor were there any guests or ambassadors in the area at the time. The James City County Fire Department was on the scene and the fire was quickly put out.

As a result, Escape from Pompeii is currently closed, with no timeframe on when it will reopen.
