Examining and listing the spell cards of the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game at Walt Disney World

The new Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game is currently testing at the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World. It’s a role-playing, trading card game which has guests trying to defeat Disney Villains who are working to take over the theme park. Armed with magic spells in the form of special cards, players must go to the magic portals throughout the park that lead them to the animated villains’ hiding places.

By casting different magical spell cards, guests can do battle with Yzma, Scar and other ne’er do wells hiding throughout the land. From fireballs to frantic frogs and cyclones, there are spells to bring down each and every villain. But just how many different spell cards are there? (UPDATE: Disney has confirmed there are 70 different cards) And how can you collect them all? Below we’ll tell you all we know about the game and try to compile a list of all the cards.

Right now, when you sign up to play the game, you’re given five cards. We’ve been told there are 70 cards in all, which matches up with what is printed on the cards. But if you take a closer look, you’ll notice different symbols above the numbers. Above each card we’ve seen are what look like either a planet, moon, solid star, double star or a lightning bolt. (UPDATE: The different kinds of stars seem to have been testing changes. The final categories are Star, Moon, Planet and the rare Lightning Bolt.)

So, are there 70 cars in all, with groupings of different symbols, or are there five sets of 70 cards, totaling 350 cards? We don’t know yet.

To confuse things even more, we have some cards that are exactly alike, except they have different numbers and symbols. One example: we have a card with Bolt’s Super Bark that is 24/70 with a crescent moon and one that’s 60/70 with a solid star. Along with that, we also have cards that have the same numbers and symbols (or different symbols) that are different cards. For example: one 12/70 card is Merlin’s Fireball and one 12/70 is Mr. Incredible’s Power Heave. So do some sets of cards have duplicate cards or are these simply production changes because the game is still in testing? One other difference we’ve seen that probably is a production change, is that some cards are square on the corners and some are rounded. (UPDATE: All of the different cards are production changes.)

We’ve heard that once the game testing ends and it begins full-time, guests will continue to receive only five cards when playing. But we’ve heard rumors the cards will be for sale in the park’s gift shops.

One thing we know, you don’t actually have to have the cards to play. Since the game recognizes the cards via a camera, print-outs of the cards will work as well. You can even take a picture of a card on your smart phone and hold your phone’s screen up and the game will recognize the card. That’s a handy way for frequent visitors to play without having to bring their cards with them each visit.
TIP: You can cast more than one spell at a time by holding up more than one card at a time. Of course, you won’t be able to do this if you’re holding up a photo of the card with your cell phone.

We’ve been told the testing of the game is set on “easy” and that the attributes listed on the cards have no effect yet, but that there will be a medium and hard setting once the game fully begins and the spell’s attributes will effect the game.

Below is an ongoing list of the cards we’ve seen, listed with their numbers, grouped by their number’s symbol, and listing the attributes on the cards. Let us know if you have any new or different cards to add.

UPDATE: Below is the final list of 70 cards, with variants listed below them.)

  1. I did some of the CM testing last week and while speaking with some of the WDI folks they did confirm that the cards will be for sell once the game gets up and going.

  2. I’ve got a few more not listed:
    * 06/70 Fa Mulan’s Dragon Cannon Flying Attack 4 Flying Boost 1 Flying Shield 0
    * 07/70 Flynn Rider’s Flying Frying Pan Flying Attack 1 Flying boost 0 Flying Shield 4

  3. I have one new one to add: Pocahontas’s Colors of the Wind – Princess Spell, Wishful, Attack: 3, Boost: 1, Shield: 1. It’s 35/70 out of the double star series.

And FWIW, my Pinocchio’s Sawdust is 20/70 for a solid star and Caballero Donald’s Pinata is a 50/70 as a double star.

  4. Full moon: 42 – Baloo’s Coconut Cascade – Attack 2 – Boost 2 – Shield 1

    Lightening Bolt: 61 – Ariel’s Bubble Attack – Attack 3 – Boost 2 – Shield 0

    Lightening Bolt: 70 – Winnie The Pooh’s Honey Bees – Attack 1 – Boost 0 – Shield 5

  5. We played this past weekend. 2 cards not listed for Crescent Moon.

    45/70 Flower’s Flower: Attack 2 – Boost – 0 Shield – 3
    51/70 Pocahontas’s Colors of the Wind: Attack 3 – Boost – 1 Shield – 1

  6. 53/70 Prince Naveen’s Army of Frogs Gross Attack-1 Boost-2 Sheild-2
    62/70 Dumbo’s Pink Elephant Parade Wishful Attack-1 Boost-3 Sheild-1

  7. Thanks everyone, I’ve added all these in, except:

Professor Josh, Can you double check that those are crescent moon and not full moon? They can be confusing. Check the images above.

Scott: Which symbols are those? Full moon and lightning bolt?

  8. So I made a list of all these cards and I come up with a total of 67 DIFFERENT cards if I only use the name’s (no symbols and such)

the double cards up to now are:
    Eve’s laser blast
    Mr incredible’s power heave
    Woody’s cowboy lasso
    Pocahontas’s colors of the wind
    Caballero donald’s pinata
    Mowgli’s swinging vine
    Bolt’s super bark
    Cinderella’s magic ribbon
    Pinocchio’s sawdust blast
    Wall-E’s trash crunch
    Mama odie’s magic charm

Maybe each of the symbol’s stands for a difficulty level or something like that (just an idea that popped up…)

  9. Where can I find The Cast Member’s Power of the Four Keys – Cast Member Exclusive Card? Can I find it with a Cast Member to trade Cards with, or is it at Merlin’s training area?
