Busch Gardens will open a swing ride called “Finnegan’s Flyer,” and Water Country USA will open “Cutback Water Coaster,” the first hybrid water coaster in Virginia.

“We’re committed to providing new and unique experiences for our guests year after year, and these two new attractions are unlike any we’ve ever had at the parks,” said Kevin Lembke, president of Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA. “We know our guests love big thrills, and these two attractions will deliver just that.”

Finnegan’s Flyer

Guests will fly high and swing out over the Celtic coast aboard Finnegan’s Flyer, which will be located in the Ireland village adjacent to the Loch Ness Monster roller coaster. This ride will feature two pendulum-like arms that will seat 32 riders, and fly higher and higher with each swing.

Finnegan’s Flyer will reach a height of over 80 feet with a speed of 45 miles per hour. Guests will be able to enjoy breathtaking views while taking in the big thrills of this attraction.

Cutback Water Coaster

Cutback Water Coaster will be the only RocketBlast coaster on the East Coast and Virginia’s first hybrid water coaster when it opens at Water Country USA in 2019. This water propulsion ride will combine a water jet propulsion system with a saucer feature to create one unique attraction.

With the Rocket Blast technology, Cutback will move bigger boats at higher speeds and move riders up longer and steeper inclines. Guests will board a four-person raft, speed down an 856-foot slide, move through tunnels and slide onto the massive saucer-shaped features. The steep angles and saucers will make guests feel like they’re dropping and diving as they race to the end.
