Twinkle Hope’s Rockin’ Spa officially opened at Give Kids the World Village on May 19.

Give Kids the World Village opened a brand new fitness center and spa, ‘Twinkle Hope’s Rockin’ Spa,’ this past week. Children with life-threatening illnesses and their families can visit this new facility to get a fun makeover, and the adults can get a workout in while on their wish trip to the nonprofit resort located in central Florida.

Thanks to a $150,000 contribution from Hasbro, Inc., the newly-renovated spa offers extended hours as well as new services. This contribution also helped to add a fitness center, the “G.I. JOE Gym,” which was requested by many families visiting the Village.

“We are so excited to offer this to our guests,” said Give Kids the World CEO and President Pamela Landwirth. “Our visiting wish kids can become anything they imagine at the spa, and families will be able to keep up with their exercise routine. We are so grateful to Hasbro, whose gift has given us the opportunity to create this fantastic new amenity for our guests.”

Named for the “My Little Pony” character created by Hasbro for Give Kids the World Village, the spa appeals to children of all ages, with rock ’n’ roll-themed décor throughout the facility.

The spa offers many fun services, such as airbrush tattoos, hand massages, manicures, face painting and makeup. It also has a new “crazy hair” station, where trained volunteers style their guests’ hair with colored hair chalk and hair spray, as well as accessories like tiaras and flowers, or even airbrush tattoos for bare skin.

The facility also includes a selfie station, where guests can take pictures and show off their new look on social media. A three-panel backdrop decorated with red carpet and velvet ropes gives a Hollywood feel to the selfies, and is the perfect place for guests to have fun taking pictures.

The G.I. JOE Gym will feature exercise equipment like elliptical machines, treadmills, exercise bicycles and more. This new addition was a large part of Hasbro’s support for the spa renovations.

“One of the countless things that makes Give Kids the World so special is the important they place on being inclusive of the entire family that stays with them,” said Karen Davis, the senior vice president of Global Philanthropy and Social Impact for Hasbro, Inc. “We’re proud that two of our iconic brands, My Little Pony and G.I. JOE, will be part of this new experience where parents and kids can refresh and revitalize during their stay at the Village.”

Hasbro, Inc. has supported Give Kids the World for more than a decade, providing toys and games for the Village’s Winter Wonderland party, as well as an annual grant. In 2008, Hasbro helped to build Matthew’s Boundless Playground, a Candy Land-themed, fully accessible play area for children. Each family that visit the Village also gets to take home a special Give Kids the World edition of Candy Land that features many of the attractions at the resort.

Other companies helped with the spa renovation, including Target, who gave $12,000, and Florida’s Workers Comp Institute, Inc., which gave $10,000 and the services of Mader Southeast construction.

The previous spa was locate inside the Village’s Castle of Miracles, but will now be turned into a star observatory – with a ceiling covered in small gold stars, which commemorate each wish child’s visit to the resort.
