The Great Irish Hooley is back for Labor Day Weekend at Raglan Road.

From Aug. 31 – Sept. 3, the Great Irish Hooley will host performances by nine Irish bands and the new Raglan Road Irish Dance Troupe, starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31. Indoor shows on the pub’s Grand Room stage will feature video choreography and crisp acoustics.

Paired alongside contemporary Irish cuisine, local and national craft beers, new hand-crafted cocktails featuring Wild Irish syrups and plenty of entertainment, the Great Irish Hooley promises high-energy fun for all ages.

A traditional Irish social celebration, the “Hooley” combines music with entertainment and fun at no cover charge. The Hooley will also feature Celtic face-painting throughout the festival.

This year’s Hooley entertainment headliners include:

  • JigJam – The multi-award-winning Irish quartet will bring their brand of “CeltGrass,” blending the best of traditional Irish music with Americana and Bluegrass (Friday – Monday).
  • Lisa Canny Band – Lisa Canny, 7-time All-Ireland champion on banjo and harp, blends pop and hip-hop with traditional Irish rhythms (Saturday – Monday).
  • Billow Wood – Formerly known as Flat Out when they played Raglan Road in 2016, this four-piece band fuses instrumentation with multi-vocals and harmonies for a blend of Irish and folk music (Monday).

The Raglan Road Irish Dancers will perform throughout the Great Irish Hooley. Champion Irish dancer Ciaran Keating, Raglan Road’s show choreographer, will host a workshop that traces the start of Irish dance, from the earliest jigs and reels through contemporary times.

Additional musical acts throughout the weekend will include:

  • Reel Republic – From the southwest corner of Ireland, Reel Republic are four musicians delighting audiences with a spectrum of Irish tunes.
  • Strings & Things – This original Irish folk/trad crossover four-piece band hails from Tipperary/Galway. They have created their own sound over the years, creating a variety of crossover songs with their own spin.
  • TradGad – Three lads from Dublin, Kerry, and Edinburgh will charm audiences by singing and playing guitar, mandolin, fiddle, Uileann pipes, tin whistle, bazooka, and banjo.
