Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Coaster will open Summer 2022 at Epcot
Just announced at Destination D23, the upcoming and highly-anticipated Marvel-themed roller coaster coming to Epcot, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, will open Summer 2022.
Debuting in the newly-renamed World Discovery neighborhood, this family-thrill coaster will take guests on an intergalactic chase through time and space, and will feature the first reverse launch on a Disney coaster and will be one of the longest fully-enclosed coasters in the world.
This coaster was originally announced in 2017, and we have been eagerly awaiting an opening ever since. Epcot’s new E-ticket attraction will be inspired by the premise that Peter Quill (aka Star Lord) actually visited Epcot as a kid. You can see the original announcement here.
At the Destination D23 presentation, we were given these two brand-new looks at the queue. This queue is where Xandarians will showcase their culture and planet, Xandar.
It was also announced that the attraction will feature Academy Award-nominated actress Glenn Close reprising her role as Nova Prime, the Xandarian leader and commander of the Nova Corps.
More information will be showcased at a later, but we now know that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be opening next summer during the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary 18-month celebration.
