'Orlando Attractions Magazine' iPad app now available free in the iTunes store

There’s a new way to read Orlando Attractions Magazine. Besides the print edition, which is available via mail and at major bookstores nationwide, you can now purchase and read full versions of the magazine on Apple’s iPad. Besides reading the magazine, the app can also be used to read the latest Orlando theme park and attractions news. The app is a free download from the iTunes store.

The Latest News section of the app will allow you to keep up-to-date with all the major happenings in-between issues. There’s no charge to download the app and use this feature. One tap will bring up the story and all the related photos and videos. All of the content can be read right within the app. You can even pinch-zoom the videos to watch them full-screen – horizontal or vertical.

The Store section is where you can see all the issues (past and current) available for purchase. All issue purchases are done within the app. New issues will appear here as they’re released.

The Library is where you’ll find all the issues you’ve purchased and select an issue to read with a tap. Once downloaded, each issue is available to read with or without an Internet connection. The custom e-reader will allow you to carry all your issues with you wherever you go.

Once inside an issue, you can read a page at a time by holding the iPad vertically, or two pages at a time by holding it horizontally. You can turn the pages by swiping your finger left or right across the screen, or by tapping the far right or left. One tap also brings up the toolbar and thumbnails of each page, allowing you to quickly jump to any page. A double click will zoom in or out. You may also pinch to zoom in or out.

An option in the upper right allows you to show or hide links within the issue. For example, you can click on a headline on the contents page to jump right to that story, or you can click on links in certain stories to bring up our extra photos and videos that go with the story.

The Settings screen will allow you to select from a variety of theme park pictures as your background within the app. This screen will also give you quick access to our Facebook, Twitter and YouTube updates.

The app is available in all of the countries where iTunes is available. Of course, there are no shipping fees or extra tax for the iPad issues. The app is only available on the iPad. No iPhone or iPod Touch versions are available. The iPad issues are sold separately from the print issues.

Although the app is free to download, we’ve put together this video to show you what the experience of reading the magazine is like before you purchase one.

    1. Have you tried restarting your iPad? To do so, hold in the power button on the top until the message pops up to Slide to Power Off. If you’ve tried this and it still doesn’t work. Try deleting the app and reinstalling it. If that still gives you problems, please send an e-mail to [email protected]
